Interesting Thing You Must Know On Predation

Here we are on facts on feeding relationship in predation.

Predation is a relationship among organisms in the ecosystem in which members of one specie feeds on members of another species ( their prey ).

A very good example is the relationship between a Lion and an Antelope.

The Lion consumes the Antelope, the other predator is the Antelope though unlike the lion it does not kill animals but it feeds on grass.

Biomes have population of interacting species, they also have some species that prey on others for food.

Some predator species are recognized as the keystone specie.

A specie that plays an especially important role in the environment is a keystone specie.

When their is a change in the number of keystone species it affects the overall population of other species in the community.

In both predator and preys the most common adaptation is the camouflage.

Adaptation of preys help them avoid predators, while predators adaptation helps them capture their preys.

The relationship between organisms fighting or striving over the available resources in the environment is known as competition, and it is of two types intraspecific and interspecific competition.

Interspecific competition leads to extinction while intraspecific competition leads to specialization.

When competing species evolve different adaptations specialization occurs, because the may surely evolve to start hunting for different foods.

Symbiotic relationships

Symbiotic relationship is a kind of relationship between two organisms or specie in which at least one benefits.

The relationship maybe positive, neutral or negative.

Mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism are the three basis types of symbiosis.
